Superman: Legacy director James Gunn followed up the recent announcement of the movie entering pre-production with further details about the upcoming film.
On Twitter, Gunn was asked if the entire script was complete for Superman: Legacy, or if only the one page in Gunn’s earlier photo was done. The director confirmed that the movie’s whole script is indeed finished.
One Twitter user asked if it is correct to assume that the actor who will play Superman will be announced by the end of this month or next month. Gunn said it is not correct to assume that, suggesting fans will be waiting a bit longer to hear who’s playing Superman.
The user who asked about Superman’s actor responded with a sad face emoji, which the DC Studios Co-CEO replied to with, “Sorry.”
Another user asked if Warner Bros. gave Gunn any notes on the Superman: Legacy script. The director clarified that WB wouldn’t be giving notes on a DC Studios production, as the two are different entities within Warner Bros. Discovery.
One reply to the picture of the movie’s script jokingly asked Gunn to show everyone the first page, which he jokingly replied to, saying that he “just did.”
Finally, Gunn was asked about if he has an aspect ratio in mind for Superman: Legacy and if he can publicly reveal it. The Co-CEO replied that he does have one in mind but that he can’t reveal it yet.
“Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas,” reads the movie’s official synopsis. “He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
The DC Universe’s first phase, called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, will feature a multitude of different movies and television shows. A few of the announced projects include Superman: Legacy, a Batman and Robin-focused movie called The Brave and the Bold, a Supergirl movie titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, a Swamp Thing film, and multiple TV shows.
